Apple has been the United States Government to boycott because of "scene-stealing"

Apple has decided to withdraw the whole quite a surprise when their products out of the standard "environmental-friendly". Shortly after this decision, it seems like Apple has been ostracized from the US Government agencies.

Apple has required EPEAT product has ever removed 39 confirmed friendly environment, including desktop PCs, monitors and laptops, including the product line of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air ... out of the list of environmentally friendly products.

EPEAT is held to be the United States Government established, through a grant from the environmental protection agency, federal and manufacturers to create standards and verification for electronic products capable of recycling and is designed to optimize the maximum efficient use of energy and minimize environmental harm.

To meet the standards of EPEAT, the product needs to be easily removable with common tools, to separate the hazardous components such as the battery products in the recycling process. The criterion is the manufacturers coupled with EPEAT, including Apple and other government agencies.

Apple's products are now no longer "environment friendly"

According to Robert Frisbee, CEO of EPEAT, Apple has been filing up the organisation from June will no longer want to Apple computer are listed in the list of certificates of EPEAT. Until today, EPEAT officially given notice and put the Apple products from the list.

It looks like Apple has been immediately, US Government agencies to boycott. Although based in the city of Cupertino, not far from the city of San Francisco but San Francisco City Government said would not add cost to buy Apple products.

The reason that the city of San Francisco made the decision to withdraw the products from the list "environment-friendly" by Apple.

By an act of the Government of the City launched in 2007, the Agency asked the city to evaluate the electronic products, including desktops, laptops and monitors are EPEAT certification or not.

"We are very frustrated prior Apple pulled the product off the EPEAT standard and we hope that the dynamics of the city do not buy products that will make Apple rethink his decision", Melanie Nutter, Director of the San Francisco Department of the environment said.

In which the United States Government also requires 95% of electromagnetic products on the market to meet EPEAT standards.

In a survey last year, as many as 222 out of 300 major universities in the United States requires a computer system with EPEAT standard, whereas up to 70% of schools in the United States also require EPEAT certification for electronic equipment that purchased.

However it seems that this is not too important to Apple as its revenues from educational institutions only account for only about 10 to 15%. The main products that bring in revenue for Apple iPhone and iPad is not currently on the list of EPEAT's certificate.

Experts predict that sooner or later, Apple will soon build a separate standards-friendly environment but in accordance with the product design of Apple.
